Jacksonville man killed in hit-and-run crash on Blanding Blvd.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol reported that a pedestrian was killed while trying to cross Blanding Blvd.

At approximately 1:58 a.m., detectives believe a 32-year-old pedestrian was traveling west across Blanding Blvd, which is just south of Collins Rd. At the same time, a black Mazda SUV was traveling north and collided with the pedestrian, instantly killing him.

The driver of the Mazda pulled into a nearby parking lot and fled the scene on foot.

FHP is still actively searching for the suspect with the help of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
