Jacksonville man pleads guilty to 4 murders in 2 separate cases

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man has pleaded guilty to four murders in two separate cases that happened in 2022.

Terrell Lewis, 38, admitted to killing the mother of his son, Jonisha Williams, her two siblings, Jamonica and Jordan Williams and 24-year-old Deja Daniels in a road rage shooting that happened just one month prior to the triple murder.

Lewis will likely spend the rest of his life in prison, but Daniels’ father said justice won’t fully be served unless his two sentences run back-to-back, rather than concurrently.

“People got murdered for no reason, I’m glad they got that monster off the street,” Chaddrick Daniels said.

Chaddrick Daniels spoke to Action News Jax reporter Ben Ryan and said their family continues to heal.

“She was a great daughter, she was my baby,” he said. “I feel sorry for his son and my grandson, but he doesn’t need to come back to society.”

For the triple murder, the State Attorney’s Office and the family worked a plea deal, where Lewis was sentenced and will spend a full 50 years in Florida State Prison. His son witnessed every murder and loved ones didn’t want him to go through a criminal trial. Investigators said the three Williamses were shot to death in an Arlington apartment and Lewis took his son, sparking an Amber Alert. Action News Jax’s Ben Ryan also spoke with the mother of the victims and the grandmother of his son after it happened in April 2022.

“Once I heard it, I was shook and feel like I’m in a bad dream,” Kimberly Levins said in 2022. “I can’t believe my kids are gone, all three of them ... all three of them.”

For Daniels’ case, she was found dead behind the wheel of her SUV on Welland Road after being shot in the head in March 2022. Investigators said it was a road rage murder. Daniels’ father said state attorneys brought a potential plea deal where it would be 50 years total for both separate cases, but he didn’t want that and doesn’t want the sentences to run at the same time. Lewis ultimately pleaded guilty in open court to 25 years to life. The judge will decide the sentence later this month since it wasn’t a negotiated plea deal.

“He killed four people and if you do the math on it, that’s 12 and a half years per person, the way it was done, I didn’t like that,” he said. “You don’t make deals with murderers, there should be no deal-making.”

For Daniels, he said his family continues to heal.

“Do you ever see a scenario where you could forgive him?” Ryan asked.

“All is forgiven ... I mean, I forgive him but I ain’t going to forget,” he said.

Daniels said his daughter had just left his house before she was shot, saying the two didn’t know each other and he plays back the last time he saw her, repeatedly.

“She turned the corner and that was the last time I saw her until about four the next morning,” he said. “I got the call about 3:48 a.m. that she was shot, I went to the hospital where she was at and my whole life changed right there.”

The sentencing for the road rage murder will be the week of August 24. Action News Jax will have full coverage of its outcome.
