Jacksonville motorcyclist ran red light prior to deadly collision, troopers say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man is dead following a collision on Emerson Street at the exit ramp of I-95 northbound Sunday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said motorcyclist, Diosvanis Gonzales-Silva, 42, failed to stop at the red light and collided with a 2006 Toyota Scion, who had a green arrow, while exiting the I-95 northbound ramp in the left lane.

Gonzales-Silva was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

He was not wearing a helmet, troopers stated.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Scion were not injured, FHP said.
