Jacksonville No. 11 most populous city in the U.S., according to the Census

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville is now ranked the 11th most populated city in America.

The U.S. Census Bureau released new numbers on Thursday.

Roughly a million people call the River City home.

The top 15 most populous cities also include New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Charlotte.

1. New York (8.3 million)
2. Los Angeles (4 million)
3. Chicago, Illinois (2.7 million)
4. Houston, Texas (2.3 million)
5. Phoenix, Arizona (1.6 million)
6. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1.6 million)
7. San Antonio, Texas (1.5 million)
8. San Diego, California (1.4 million)
9. Dallas, Texas (1.3 million)
10. Austin, Texas (1.0 million)
11. Jacksonville, Florida (1.0 million)
12. San Jose, California (1.0 million)
13. Fort Worth, Texas (1.0 million)
14. Columbus, Ohio (907,971)
