Jacksonville officers investigating double shooting off W. 36th Street

Jacksonville officers are investigating a double shooting in Moncrief hours after a woman's car was shot up in the same block.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is on scene in the 1500 block of W. 36th Street -- the same area where a social worker's car was shot up just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.

A female social worker told police she was inside her car parked on the side of W. 36th near Majestic Apartments when she was approached by three armed men.

The woman told police each man had a gun and fired shots at her from a white sedan.

She said she ducked after seeing the weapons then heard three shots.

Three bullet holes were visible in her car, according to a police report.

The woman was not injured, but shaken up. Action News Jax is not identifying her for her protection.

Police have not released any suspect information at this time.

Action News Jax received reports of shots fired in the same area just before 5 p.m.

JSO says two men were shot. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Witnesses said they saw a gold-colored car, possibly a Nissan, flee the area.

JSO said it's unknown if the two shootings are related. Officers are asking anyone with information to call JSO.
