Jacksonville police, DEA shut down marijuana grow house

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office made a surprising discovery inside an East Arlington Home.

JSO shut down an elaborate marijuana grow operation at a home on Running River Road S.

On Tuesday, police shared pictures of marijuana seized from a home after a search warrant was served by JSO Narcotics Team 3 and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

A Facebook post said more than 50 pounds of pot, 261 live plants and $5,700 were confiscated during the raid.

Action News Jax found a police report that matched the items listed in the Facebook post.

Neighbors confirmed the suspect in the report, 50-year-old Roy Dorsett, was arrested in the raid.

They said Dorsett was renting the home and usually kept to himself.

A neighbor, who didn’t want to be identified, said the landlord asked her to go into the house after the raid.

She said it was trashed and there was evidence marijuana was being grown in every room, including the garage.
