Jacksonville police investigating after officer hits wanted suspect with car

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating an officer-involved incident on the Southside.

Police say they were called out to the Value Pawn on Beach Boulevard around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday after a clerk reported seeing a man wanted for armed robbery.

The suspect, Jadarius Williams, was reportedly there pawning items.

At a briefing Wednesday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff’'s Office said police saw Williams running into an alley and trying to escape on a bike.

One officer reportedly bumped the bike with a car, causing Williams to fall off. Williams continued trying to run away, before being hit by another officer’s car.

He was eventually arrested after, again, trying to run away.

Police say the suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
