WAYCROSS, Ga. — An ambush resulted in a shooting that involved Jacksonville rapper Yungeen Ace at the Hampton Inn in Waycross, according to the rapper's attorney.
Attorney David Haas told Action News Jax a group including Yungeen Ace, whose real name is Kenyata Bullard, was ambushed Sunday morning in Waycross.
According to Waycross Police Department, they received a report of people being chased in the parking lot at 3:30 a.m. by people with guns at the Hampton Inn, located at 1720 Brunswick Highway.
Waycross police said upon arrival, they found Jeremy Brookins, 30, of Jacksonville, dead with gunshot wounds in the pool area of the hotel.

Police also found another victim, Dewayne Starks, 29, of Jacksonville, in a hotel room with several gunshot wounds. Starks was taken to a nearby hospital.
Police said they have arrested three people: Mark Jefferson, 26, Leroy Whittaker, 18, and Devante Starks, 26, all from Jacksonville.
"With respect to the investigation, we will not confirm the relationship between the people shot and Bullard. Bullard cooperated with the investigation but will not be commenting any further," Haas said.

Yungeen Ace was in Waycross performing a concert at The Vibe, according to the rapper's Facebook account.
