Jacksonville seeking clues to solve 2017 fatal shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help to solve a 2017 cold case. Maurice Hobbs, 18, was shot to death Jan. 26, 2017 in the 10300 block of Agave Road. Officers responded to a call that day in response to a person shot and found Hobbs' suffering from gunshot wounds, a JSO news release states.

Hobbs was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was treated at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the news release states. “Homicide Detectives have worked through all available evidence and information in this case, and at this point are unable to close this case with an arrest for the crime,” the news release states.
