JSO reports suspect shot during attempted attack outside Royal Terrace convenience store

New information has been released regarding a deadly stabbing that happened on Easter Sunday in Bremerton.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that a suspect was shot while attempting to attack a victim outside a convenience store in the Royal Terrace area on Dodge Road.

According to JSO, officers responded to the 5400 block of Dodge Road around 9:00 a.m., finding an adult male in his thirties with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to a local hospital for surgery with non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigations by JSO have revealed that the wounded individual is believed to be the suspect in the incident.

According to reports, the suspect approached the victim outside a convenience store and fired several shots, missing the intended target. The victim, reportedly acting in self-defense, returned fire and struck the suspect before fleeing the scene. The victim has not yet contacted law enforcement or returned to the area.

Crime Scene Unit Detectives are actively processing the scene, while Violent Crime Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance footage.
