Man shot during dispute over gun on University and Beach Blvd., JSO investigating

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting incident near University Blvd. and Beach Blvd., where a man in his early 20s sustained injuries during a dispute over a gun.

According to JSO, the incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of River Bluff Road North. Two individuals, both known to each other, allegedly became involved in a disagreement concerning a firearm.

During the altercation, the suspect reportedly discharged the weapon, resulting in the victim sustaining a single gunshot wound to the arm. The severity of the injury is reported as non-life-threatening and was transported to a nearby hospital.

At present, it remains unclear whether the shooting was intentional or accidental.

Detectives from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are actively conducting interviews and gathering information to ascertain the motive behind the incident and to identify the perpetrator.
