Jacksonville U.S. Postal Service employee arrested for stealing greeting card

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

A United States Postal Service employee James Gregory Sweat, 60, of Duval County, is facing up to five years in federal prison for tampering with a greeting card, according to the Department of Justice.

According to the indictment, on June 4, while serving as a U.S. Postal Service employee, Sweat took one greeting card from the mail and stole the cash inside.

It is not clear how much money was inside the greeting card.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Service – Office of Inspector General.  It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Scot Morris.
