The massive $275 million contract extension brings a lot more eyes to the 2021 Number 1 Overall Pick on the field.

Now, the talk is what happens next. He’s got the money and now the expectation is to deliver on the field, specifically a Super Bowl. It’s something that Lawrence is aware of and actively chasing with no added pressure.

One other note from Lawrence’s news conference that stood out was the money. He reiterated how grateful he was to be paid but also mentioned how important it was to leave some money on the table for the other guys around him to be paid as well.

Here are the details around Lawrence’s deal: It included a 5-year, $250 million extension, which means he gets $200 million guaranteed. The average is %55 million per year and ties him with Joe Burrow, the Bengals QB, at the top of that category. Lawrence becomes the 6th QB with an annual salary above $50 million.
