Jailhouse recordings played in trial of Jacksonville man accused of ordering hit from jail

A Jacksonville man accused of ordering a hit from jail is facing murder and witness tampering charges.

Quintae Hudson is accused in the murder of Michael Wright, a 62-year-old security guard.

Investigators believe Wright was a witness to a crime Hudson committed.

On Tuesday, Action News Jax cameras were not allowed inside as hours of jailhouse phone calls were  played between Hudson and his associates.

Hudson can be heard sounding frustrated about being in jail and wanting his witness killed.

Easter Sunday of 2016, Wright was shot multiple times.

Prosecutors say his murder was cold, calculated and planned. They believe the mastermind is Hudson.

A court document shows Wright witnessed Hudson allegedly throwing a concrete stone through a woman's car, hurting her small child.

Wright was set to testify as a witness against Hudson in that case.

In jailhouse phone calls weeks before Wright was killed, Hudson said he wanted out of jail and wanted to be free.

On March 17, 2016 Husdon sounds frustrated and tells a witness, “I’m trying to get this witness killed … I’d rather be sitting her for murder than sitting here for anything else.”

The next day, he tells the same witness, “I pray that they just drop the case.”

Less than two weeks later, Wright was killed at the Hollybrook Apartments on King Street.
