A teenager is seriously injured after he was hit by a SUV in Northwest Jacksonville, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at Dunn Avenue and Irma Road around 6:49 a.m. Tuesday.

Troopers said a silver Jeep Cherokee hit the First Coast High student who attempted to cross five lanes of traffic on Dunn Avenue to get his bus stop.
Officials said there is no crosswalk in the area.
FHP identified the student hit as 15-year-old Michael Chaco. He was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries, troopers said.
