“Usually hectic, very congested,” local driver James Augustine said. “Depends on the time of the day you travel, it’s like anywhere else, any big city, you always have congestion and heavy traffic.”
“The traffic is really bad,” driver Melvin Gaskin said. “You got people speeding, it’s an everyday occurrence, it’s an everyday thing.”
Action News Jax talked to drivers who sat in the stand-still traffic. They said they have noticed significantly more traffic and crashes in this area, and asked for the City to investigate a possible issue on the roads.
“They need to do something about it,” Gaskin said. “I don’t know about the toll thing, I don’t if that’s going to work out or not but it’s really bad. It’s almost like every day something is happening on that bridge, and I’m talking about fatal accidents.”
