JFRD says one seriously injured, 15 displaced in fire on the Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department said one person was seriously injured and 15 others displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment complex on Confederate Point Road.

The call came in around 8 p.m. of a fire at 4455 Confederate Point Road. JFRD Captain Eric Prosswimer confirmed some animals were hurt or displaced.

Another JFRD Captain at the scene told Action News Jax that eight apartment units were affected by water and fire damage. One unit had three dogs and four cats displaced.

Action News Jax Annette Gutierrez saw the American Red Cross on site of Sound at Peninsula apartment complex with a lot of police activity.
