JSO: 1 dead, 4 injured in overnight Kings Road crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that a woman died in an overnight crash near of Hogan’s Creek and Lavilla School of the Arts.

At around 9:30 a.m., investigators believe an SUV was traveling southbound on North Davis Street. At the same time, a minivan was traveling westbound on Kings Road. The two vehicles collided at the intersection.

There were two occupants in each car, and all were transported to a hospital. Unfortunately, a woman in the SUV succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives from the JSO Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating the crash and looking into the status of the traffic lights, speed and impairment in this crash.

This marks the 108th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
