JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A carjacking ended in a crash in Springfield Monday morning.

Witnesses say it all happened fast.

"The police car just jammed him. Bumped him. Bumped, kept on bumping him. Turned him around. Turned him around. I see the parts falling off, the bumper falling off," Michael Hall explained.

Police say the Chevy Equinox was stolen over the weekend on the Westside. According to police, three people held up the driver and got away, until they were spotted hours later on Mars Avenue in the Hogan's Creek neighborhood.

The officer followed them, the suspects fled, and a PIT maneuver had to be used.

"That's a precision intervention technique, where we actually bump the back of it to stop it," Lt. Brian Richardson with JSO said.

Action News obtained exclusive video of the one of the suspects. Police won't say his age right now, but he looks fairly young.

Eleventh Street had to be blocked off after the chase, but thankfully no one was hurt.

"All the suspects have been detained and are being questioned as we speak," Lt. Richardson continued.

Hall said he's grateful no one pulled out a gun and started shooting. With his cleaners business right across the street, it was a close-up view that will stick with him.

"I won't forget it no time soon."
