Jacksonville, FL. — Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to a call on Lambert Street on Sept. 11, 2020.
Upon arrival officers located the victim whom appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds.
The 19 year old black male was pronounced dead at the scene.
After JSO launched an investigation they found there was an altercation between several individuals that escalated into shots being fired and the victim being struck by gunfire.
The suspect fled the scene .
This investigation led JSO to find that Steafon Cortland Fields a suspect.
A warrant was subsequently obtained for the suspect, and on Saturday, November 7, 2020, Steafon Fields was located and arrested for Murder in the Second Degree as a result of the shooting death of the victim.
