Police are working to find the driver who struck a pedestrian Saturday morning in Jacksonville.

Officers say they received a report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on Barnett Road at approximately 1:15 a.m., and found a pedestrian lying in the middle of the roadway.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, JSO said.
Police say they do not have any suspect information at this time and there were no witnesses to the crash.
Traffic Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Unit Detectives are investigating.
