JSO: Possible meth lab found in Jacksonville inn

Jacksonville police are investigating at a local motel after receiving reports of a chemical smell coming from one of the rooms.

When officers arrived at the Quality Inn at 6802 Commonwealth Ave, they discovered materials consistent with a homemade, possible meth lab in one room.

No one was in the room at the time.

JSO said they had to evacuate nearby rooms.

Authorities arrested a man in the inn's parking lot for possession of methamphetamine and said they may be possibly related to the meth lab.

This is an ongoing investigation.
