The Jacksonville Transportation Authority revealed two new Nassau Express Select buses that will operate out of Yulee and take customers to Downtown Jacksonville.
This the third development they have revealed in their $63 million transportation expansion this week.

There are two buses that have 12 seats available for customers, including two spaces reserved for wheelchair options. Customers can buy a ticket through an online app.
The service operates two trips in the morning and three in the afternoon, available Monday through Friday. The route starts in Yulee to the Rosa Parks Transit Station in Downtown Jacksonville.
Each bus is equipped with a screen that will show customers the route, schedule, and WiFi. The bus also includes special lighting and USB ports for each seat.
“This is all about connectivity and actually growing the choices our citizens have in Northeast Florida,” JTA CEO said. “Having access to jobs, to healthcare, to education, we’re expanding their opportunities.”
“It’s important for people to have easy mobility from county to county,” Nassau Council on Aging CEO Janice Ancrum said. So we’re going to connect with JTA right here in Yulee as other counties are connecting on their borders to Jacksonville.”

JTA also received the BUILD grant to fund a portion of the Ultimate Urban Circulator (U2C) project that will put autonomous vehicles in Jacksonville.
Ford said this is all in an effort to make Jacksonville a “smart city” and bring more tech opportunities to our area.
“We become a tech hub, not just because of our U2C project, but because of the implementation of technology here in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida,” Ford said. “It’s good from the economy’s standpoint, it’s good from the transportation standpoint.”
