Local man arrested for breaking into Ware County school and stealing gifts, according to deputies

WARE COUNTY, Ga. — Aaron Jacob Johnson, of Brantley County, was arrested on Monday for breaking into Wacona Elementary School and stealing children’s Christmas presents, according to the Ware County Sheriff’s Office.

According to detectives, Johnson broke into the school early on Saturday morning.

He opened several wrapped Christmas gifts and stole what was inside, including a Coach-brand bag and a guitar. Multiple cards were also opened and their contents were stolen.

Additionally, officials said a total of seven interior doors’ windows were reportedly broken during the burglary.

A detective was able to obtain multiple arrest warrants based on surveillance video of the incident.

According to jail records, Johnson was arrested on Monday and is currently in custody.

Johnson is facing charges of probation violation. possession of tools for commission of a crime, and burglary.
