18-year-old Jonny Brenns from St. Augustine auditioned for American Idol with an original song.
Brenns caught a greyhound to audition for American Idol without telling his family.
"So when I was growing up, the expectation in my family is to get an education, but for me personally, music has always been the center of what I would love to do in my entire life," Brenns said.
Brenns performed his song, "Blue Jeans," in front of celebrity judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
