JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was ambushed and shot multiple times in Woodland Acres on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, a man in his early twenties was leaving Oak Hammack Apartments on Acme Street around 2:15 p.m.
He was ambushed by three people and shot four times in the neck, side, and leg. The suspects then fled in a black SUV.

Police said they detained three people in the downtown area.
JSO believes the victim was targeted, and the shooting appears to be gang-related.
The relationship between the victim and the suspects is currently unknown.
According to police, the victim is in critical condition.
