A man is dead after a traffic accident Saturday in downtown Jacksonville.
Police said the accident happened at about 7 p.m. near Main Street N. and Union Street when a Chevy truck hit a pedestrian.
Main Street is blocked off between State and Union streets.
Jacksonville fire rescue responded to the scene and took the man to the hospital, where he later died.
Police said the driver is being cooperative and any possible charges will be determined later in the investigation.
A traffic homicide unit is investigating the accident.
