Troopers have now identified the man who died in a fiery motorcycle crash on I-295 Wednesday afternoon.
Chris Michael Allen was a father of five and grandfather of two.
He was 43 years old.
The Florida Highway Patrol crash report says Allen rear-ended a truck and was then hit by a semi.
That crash backed up traffic on I-295 for hours.

“He didn’t deserve to die. He was too young. And I will miss him. And we will all miss him. He was a character and our lives were better for having him in it,” said Chris Allen’s ex-wife Kristina Allen.
Kristina Allen said that, although they were still legally divorced, they had reconciled and were living together.

“We were talking about our trip to Arizona, was our last text exchange. We were going to go see his oldest daughter get married and he was going to meet his grandbabies for the very first time. And then, you know, he went on this ride at lunch time and never made it back,” said Kristina Allen.
FHP confirms Allen was wearing a helmet during the crash.
Last year, there were 24 fatal motorcycle crashes in Duval County. So far this year, there have been eight.
