Jacksonville, Fla. —
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a serial home burglar suspect following a months-long investigation.
Investigators say, Jack Lins, 40, is responsible for at least 24 Jacksonville burglaries beginning in August, 2020.
According to police, Lins used details from online obituaries to locate relatives of the deceased, then burglarized their homes while they attended funerals.
Lins moved to Jacksonville following a 5-year prison sentence in Arizona where he was found guilty of 17 home burglaries.
This time Lins faces 24 counts of burglary, four counts of armed burglary, two counts of dealing in stolen property and two counts of false verification.
Liens is suspected of burglarizing 17 homes at his previous residence in Arizona. He was arrested, but released from prison and moved to Jacksonville. He’s being charged with 24 counts of burglary now in Jacksonville. @ActionNewsJax
