A Middleburg teen was killed in a head-on crash in Alachua County on Thursday.
Daniel Dodd, 18, was driving southbound on US 301 near 203rd Street just after 9:30 a.m. when he lost control of his 1996 Dodge Avenger, according to officials.

Troopers said it's not clear why Dodd drove across the median. His car spun out and was hit by a Chevy Silverado driven by a 54-year-old Keystone Heights man.

Dodd was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Silverado had minor injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, troopers said.
