A local mother, Melissa Stevens, claims she was beaten up while waiting in a doctor's waiting room with her 3-year-old child.
Police say it happened at a doctor's office off of Soutel Drive.
Stevens says while waiting to be seen, another couple's young child began to play with her 3-year-old son and an argument began.
“They said are you not going to check your son? I said well I’ve already said something to him he’s not really doing anything wrong so I can’t discipline him.” Stevens said.

Stevens and the couple continued to exchange words when Stevens says the woman began beating her.
“She came over and decked me in the side of my face and then just started whaling on me.” Stevens said.
The police report says the woman punched her 10 times, the couple allegedly left before police arrived to take down a report. Stevens intends to press charges.
