Multiple people injured in five-vehicle crash on I-95 in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Five people were injured Thursday in a five-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95 in Jacksonville. The accident happened at about 7 p.m. at I-95 and State Road 9B, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

Three of the vehicles were stopped due to traffic in the southbound left lane. A pickup truck driven a 38-year-old Lehigh Acres man hit a sedan driven by a 20-year-old St. Augustine man, the news release states.

The sedan hit the rear of a vehicle in front of it causing a chain reaction with two other vehicles.

The St. Augustine man sustained critical injuries and four other received minor injuries, the news release states.
