JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Brent Loy has been the owner of Kirby Vaccuum Service and Repair in Murray Hill for 21 years and has witnessed speeding cars fly by his shop, some crashing violently into the building.

“It’s a dangerous turn, no doubt,” Loy said.
Action News Jax first told you about a crash in 2019 where a car drove through the front of his business.
However, that wasn’t the last.
“A car came past that turn,” Loy said. “It went around the corner and flew into the air like Superman.”
The most recent out-of-control wreck came Friday night when a car missed the turn and wiped out all the “turn signs” Loy put up outside of his business.
“It’s costly -- time and money. One day, someone is going to get hurt.”
Loy was even hit by a car this past November. It was a hit-and-run.

It doesn’t end there. Loy said he’s seen someone get killed riding a bike in this area.
Loy said he and his team are working hard to rebuild, but they’re going to need some financial help.
He is still waiting to hear from the state on when flashing lights will be put up.
Loy says it’s a miracle he’s still alive.
