If you thought Saturday’s kickoff to the start of the NAS Jax air show was a sight to see, then you hadn’t seen anything until Sunday. Don Clark said he retired off this base after 21 years of active duty. He’s watched the crowds grow over time.
“You know I wish we could fit more here; this is outstanding. There’s plenty of room for everybody, plenty of food,” Clark said.
“We made some adjustments in parking, the facilities, porta potties and the likeness to make sure services were available to account for that time for us to get everybody in safely,” said Marc Cantu, Commanding Officer of NAS Jacksonville.

Sunday’s NAS Jax air show had such a great fan turnout that NAS Jacksonville had to give out a statement on their Facebook page letting fans know that they heard their concerns and even added more port a potties to the area.
They said, “We hosted nearly double the normal attendance yesterday, so please understand why it was so busy.”
“We’re still estimating the actual head count but we were record breaking. Previous years, 4 years ago we have over 100,000, borderline 150,000 people. We broke that yesterday,” Cantu said.
Besides being in awe of all the cool aerobatics, The Blue Angels and other talented pilots performed the air show and had a nice line-up of entertainment. There were food, drinks, t-shirts and stuffed animals too.
