NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — Nassau County officials voted to end the mask mandate Wednesday night during a special meeting.
According to Nassau, the board voted 3-2 to end the mandate and it will be effective Thursday at noon.
Although the mandate is being lifted, Nassau still encourages residents to wears masks when unable to socially distance.
Businesses can still implement their own mask mandates if they choose, according to the county.
The county still requires masks to be worn in all county facilities.
Nassau County says the board will continue to meet weekly and hear updates from Dr. Seidel. Should cases begin to spike again, the board could consider reinstating the mandate.
