New charges filed for Jacksonville officer accused of sending lewd photos to minor

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — New charges have been filed against the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer accused of sending explicit photos of himself to a teenage boy after a second teenager has come forward to investigators.

Action News Jax first told you about Alejandro Carmona-Fonseca in March when he was arrested by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

In a new warrant, Carmona also sent explicit images to a 17-year-old whom he met at a local gym. From there, it turned into nude photos and videos being sent over social media. The officer would send the teen naked photos of himself and request photos and videos back.

The warrant says the officer sent at least 50 pictures and videos to the teen, saying at one time, “Release the hotness,” with an eggplant emoji, and asked him to expose everything.

Clay County investigators were also told by the victim that Carmona bought him Airpod Pro’s for his birthday and told him to keep sending videos. Another time, the victim said that the most recent material Carmona sent him was a video of him having sex with his wife.

Action News Jax Law and Safety Expert Dale Carson–who has years of experience in law enforcement–said now that a second victim has come forward, there could be even more. “It’s a known fact these matters and types of violations are not done in isolation,” Carson says.

We found at least 28 complaints have been filed against Carmona during his time with JSO, more than half of which were sustained. He was also linked to an incident in 2020 involving a scuffle between a Jacksonville woman named Brittany Williams and several other JSO officers, which was caught on body camera. Carmona wasn’t involved in the scuffle, but their conversation led to other officers showing up and Williams going to jail with some of her front teeth broken and her arm injured.

JSO told us Friday that Carmona is currently suspended without pay while the sheriff’s office goes through the appropriate channels to terminate his employment.
