The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the Subway on Normandy Blvd. was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday.

A witness told police that a man with long braids and a black hair wrap covering part of his face came up to the front counter with a small, gray handgun.

The witness said the man was yelling, "I am going to shoot you. This is not a game!" He then instructed the witness to give him the money from the register. The man then left the store with the money.

A customer entered the store during the robbery.

The suspect, Christopher Jefferson, yelled at the customer to get on the floor, according to a JSO police report.

Jefferson, according to the police report, fired the handgun one time in the store. No one was injured.

JSO tweeted Saturday evening that a person by the same description as Jefferson tried carjacking someone nearby.

An officer located Jefferson and started chasing him, police said.

Jefferson was found in a locked construction site and arrested, according to JSO.

An employee at the Subway at Normandy Blvd. and Lenox Ave. said two employees were working when the incident occurred.
