Northeast Florida legal community icon William “Bill” H. Harrell, Jr., 70, has died.

According to a press release from Daigle Creative, Harrell died at his home on Saturday surrounded by family following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Harrell is known for founding Harrell & Harrell, P.A. 25 years ago. His personal injury law firm, which is known for its familiar "Don't settle for less than you deserve" slogan, had 18 lawyers and 100 employees that served for the Northeast Florida community.

Bill was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army in 1968 and later served three years as a Deputy Sheriff before attending law school.

He was married to Renee D. Harrell, a trial attorney and the firm’s president. Harrell's son, Holt, and daughter, Julie, are also trial attorneys with the firm, according to the firm's website.
