ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a call at 5:09 in reference to a serious crash at State Road 16 and Harvest Lane.
According to FHP, a deputy attempted to make a U-turn to travel eastbound on State Road 16, while turning, the deputy turned in front of two motorcycles, both a woman and man in their early 50s.
FHP said one motorcycle struck the vehicle and the driver has major injuries, the other motorcyclist has minor injuries.
The deputy suffered no injuries and tried to administer first aid.
FHP is looking into all the possible factors that may have been an issue.
FHP has the westbound lane closed and will be for a few more hours.
