Two other passengers were transported with serious injuries. The Sheriff's Office is now looking for a description of other cars that were racing.
"At first, I had a little bit of panic because my oldest nephew just started driving this year -- 16, brand new driver, so of course your heart sinks when you hear a fatality, especially with a teen," said a woman who lives nearby.
She said, "It was just concerning in that there is a whole lot of speeding in this area and it's something that needs to be a little more enforced."
All three male teens were from Oakleaf High School. Single vehicle crash vs. tree. Multiple witnesses say high speeds and vehicle was possibly racing two other vehicles. We ask anyone who saw this to contact police at 904-630-0500 or JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org.
