JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two women were stabbed in the Townsend Apartments in Arlington Saturday afternoon. One of the women died from her injuries.
Officers said one of the victims was found deceased in the apartment complex, while the other was taken to an undisclosed local hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Police did not disclose the identity of the victims at the time of Saturday's news briefing.
Officials are looking for Alonzo Oneal Cole, 34, in relation to this incident. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Cole is 5-foot-7, 160 pounds, and has a low haircut and beard.
Cole has multiple tattoos including the number “5” in the front center of his neck, police said.

A neighbor, whose identity we agreed to conceal for his protection, tells us he and his fiancée gave a girl claiming to be the daughter of one of the victims a safe place to stay until police arrived.
He said the girl was shouting for help in the hallway.
“Very aggressive, repeatedly, like, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock!’’ he said.
He tells Action News Jax the girl had blood on her shirt. He claims she wanted to use a phone to call for help and shared with him a startling message.
“My mommy and grandma were both stabbed,” he claims the girl said.
Tela Mitchell said she’s a friend and coworker of one of the victims. Mitchell said she had been trying to reach her friend, who lived in the apartment where detectives were focusing their investigation.

“I’ve tried to call her and text her within a two-hour time frame since I found out what has taken place,” she said. “And I have not gotten an answer or any response.”
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office could not say at the time of the briefing what may have been used as a murder weapon. Neighbors and friends have shared with us names of people they believe may be involved. We’re emailing JSO’s public information officers to confirm this information.
Friends of the victims want answers.
“I broke down crying,” said Mitchell. “I really did, because if I don’t know if she’s dead or alive, that’s really heartbreaking.”
