CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Some heavy rain caused flooding issues in an Orange Park neighborhood Friday.
Almost 3 inches of rain caused multiple cars to get stuck while driving in the downpour. It happened near Debarry Avenue and Horton Drive, and neighbors like William Luick, who lives nearby, said that type of flooding is normal.
"I've seen people out here with canoes. I've been living here since '85 and this is a normal thing when it rains hard," Luick said.

For hours, Action News Jax watched some cars turn around, trying not to get stuck while, others drove slowly through the floodwaters.
At least two cars got stuck in yards and had to be cars towed.
That's why Luick, along with some of his neighbors, like Sharon Galloway, tried to be part of the solution and help the water recede faster.
"The community, we try to make sure there's not debris around some of the drains, but we haven't seen the city come out that often to do anything about it," Galloway said.

There are a few drains and an electrical pump on the street, but neighbors said when the rain comes fast, so does the flooding. With more rain in the forecast, this is just the beginning.
"It's a common thing when we get this much rain in, you know. It's going to be fun this weekend," Luick said.
Neighbors also said the pump on this street seems to help some but, its electric. Therefore, if the power goes out, so does the pump, making the flooding issues remain a concern.
