Orange Park woman killed in World Golf Village crash

An Orange Park woman was killed Saturday night when the car in which she was riding was hit at the intersection of State Road 16 and International Golf Parkway.

Melanie Padgett, 38, was riding in a 1998 Toyota Corolla being driven by Leslie Blodgett, 39, when they collided with a 2010 Chevy Silverado being driven by Eric Pouncey, 18, of St. Augustine.

The crash happened shortly after 9 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Blodgett was turning left onto International Golf Parkway, and Pouncey was traveling west from State Road 16. Pouncey's truck hit the front right of Blodgett's car, the FHP said.

Blodgett was seriously injured and was transported to Baptist South.
