BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — The trial date for Lonna Lauramore Barton and Chris Barton on drug charges are set in Baker County.
The parents of missing toddler Lonzie Barton were in Baker County Court on Tuesday morning.
Lonna Lauramore Barton and Chris Barton face drug charges that are unrelated to their son’s disappearance. The two are accused of selling drugs to an undercover officer after Lonzie disappeared.
Lonna Lauramore Barton and Chris Barton are scheduled to go to trial in April. The two are expected to enter a plea in March.
The trial is set for April 11. If there plead guilty, they won’t be tried together.
Chris Barton was transferred to the Bradford County Jail after an alleged fight with another inmate, Ransom Barefoot, a man who claims to be Lonzie's biological father.
Chris Barton entered a not guilty plea for his charge of battery in that fight.
Lonzie disappeared in July. Lonna Lauramore Barton’s boyfriend, Ruben Ebron, is believed to have led officers to the body in January.
Lonna Lauramore Barton pleaded guilty in January to the charges in connection with her son’s disappearance. Ebron pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated manslaughter in the disappearance of Lonzie.
