Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on Roosevelt Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A pedestrian was attempting to cross the road on Roosevelt Boulevard then was struck by an SUV on the southbound lanes.

The male victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Traffic Homicide is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.

This crash marks the 51st traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
