16-year-old hit in Jacksonville Beach near Fletcher High School

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department said a 16-year-old boy was hit by a car off 18th Avenue North and 3rd Street Wednesday.

JBPD said the 16-year-old was either walking or on a skateboard.

The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital and his condition in unknown, according to police.

Police say the driver stayed at scene and is cooperating.
