PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — Multiple people are behind bars in connection to a flatbed trailer that was posted for sale on social media one day after it was reported stolen.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, a woman reported the trailer missing from a property on West River Road. The victim told deputies that someone had also attempted to break into a home on the property.

The next day the victim saw the stolen trailer listed for sale on social media and contacted the sheriff’s office. Deputies say they contacted Heaven Dawson, 19, who created the listing and arranged a time to meet to purchase the trailer.

Putnam deputies met with Dawson and John Parker, 32, at a home on Mink Drive in Palatka. Dawson reportedly told deputies she was selling the trailer for Ray Wilkinson, 45. Dawson told deputies Wilkinson told her to sell it online for at least $1,000 and promised to give her some of the money.

After deputies made the controlled purchase, several other people on the property were interviewed to determine their involvement. PCSO said everyone told deputies that Wilkinson had brought the trailer to the home on Saturday, Nov. 20.

Dawson and Parker were arrested and charged with dealing in stolen property. Wilkinson was arrested and charged with dealing in stolen property, criminal mischief, petit theft, and grand theft of a motor vehicle.

During their investigation, deputies say they also interviewed Justin Lyons, 19, who was on probation for possession of a controlled substance with a condition of consent to search. Lyons removed a plastic bag with methamphetamine inside. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and for violation of probation.

Another person, Cody Smith, 20, was arrested and on a warrant for violation of probation. Lyons and Smith are not eligible for bond.
