JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Jaguars fans may be able to enthusiastically say “Duuuval” next season after the latest staffing shake-up.
The team hired Liam Coen as the new head coach on Friday.

Owner Shad Khan made the move after firing General Manager Trent Baalke and Head Coach Doug Pederson in the past weeks.

“The last few days have been a little crazy. [It] looked like they were gonna be just another boring team again,” Jacksonville Jaguars fan Travis Newsom said.
Action News Jax talked to many Jags fans who believe a new head coach is a step toward victory.
“Honestly, I think it’s a good move. The Jaguars had to make it dramatic of course, part of being a Jags fan,” Eric Serna, a Jags fan, said.
Others are looking forward to what this will mean for the future.

“Obviously super excited. It’s a new season. It’ll be great to get some inspiration, new eyes on the field, especially with the team,” fan Meghan Brennan said.
Fans pointed to Coen’s career highlights as support of Khad’s decision; they hope Coen can bring the same energy to Jacksonville.
“I like the move if it’s all about Trevor, and we can actually overperform. He did that in Tampa, and I think he can do that here,” Newsom said.
Coen served as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offensive Coordinator last season.

“He did great at UK... We’re excited to see what he brings to the table,” Jags fan Lauren Phillips said.
The new head coach was also the University of Kentucky’s offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2021 and again in 2023.
But at the end of the day, Jags fans really only want one thing.
“Please let him win some games,” fan Michelle Brown told Action News Jax.
Fans hope Coen will mean more Victory Mondays.
