One dead in fatal shooting near Whispers Crab House and Oyster Bar

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting near Whispers Crab House and Oyster Bar.

Officers found a male victim in their late 20s with at least one gunshot wound outside in a parking lot at the corner of Julia and Forsyth. JFRD pronounced the individual dead at the scene. No other individuals were injured.

it is unknown at this time what caused the shooting. Officers do not believe the shooting was gang-related.

Police report having a person of interest in custody and Action News Jax is working to learn more details on the possible cause.
