UPDATE: ‘Nothing suspicious’ at St. Johns County Publix

Publix bomb threat Publix, 220 Front St., Ponte Vedra Beach was evacuated Monday, 12/16/2024 due to a bomb threat.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE 2:30 p.m.: Nothing suspicious was located. Publix and surrounding businesses are back open. Thank you to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Explosive Detection K9s for their assistance.

UPDATE 12 p.m.: Publix and surrounding businesses in Sawgrass Village have been evacuated. SJSO Bomb Squad and Explosive Detection K9s are on scene and investigating.

ORIGINAL STORY: St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bomb threat at Publix at Sawgrass Village. SJSO posted about the threat on its Facebook page just before 11 a.m. Monday. “This is an active investigation. Expect a large law enforcement presence. Please avoid the area,” the post states.
